Tech fired Mike Leach
What a fucking mistake that is for Tortilla Tech. Hope they enjoy being back in the cellar of the Big 12.

U.T.E.P. Game
OK, I got our tickets yesterday, now I need a little help with the parking situation.
Tickets are for section 106, row 46 (the fucking nose bleed section I mentioned in another journal/post).
Now, the parking pass is a purple one. Good for A,B, G and Q garages. Where is the best garage to attempt to ge into? My brother lives in Dallas and said the last game he went too took him close to 5 hours to reach because of traffic, construction etc. I plan on leaving Longview around 6:00AM Saturday morning. We would leave Friday night and stay in Austin, but Chase has to travel with the Lobos to Texarkana that night, so it will be well after midnight before he gets home.
Give me some pointers folks. I really want to get there and do some tailgating with the LN group if possible. So, who is gonna be there and where will you be??

Getting ready
Getting pumped for the TEXAS beatdown of the sand aggies this weekend. Chase has a couple of baseball games Saturday, the 2nd of which I will miss (it starts at 6:30, so I've already told him "sorry bud, I won't be at that one". He'd rather be at the house watching the game.
Then, after the ass whooping of Tech, he and I can really start to get geared up for our return trip to Austin for the UTEP game. My brother is sending me his season tickets and Chase and I will be coming back to Austin for another game, finally.

Back from vacation
Whew, finally made it home. Had a blast and the family did as well. Thanks again to NM (Karen) for a fantastic deal that allowed us to stick around a day or so longer. Karen, you're my HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food breakdown: Threadgill's- very disappointed. I had the famed C.F.S. that had little to no flavor. Absolutely no seasoning what-so-ever. The wife had a rib-eye that was under-cooked and also had no seasoning at all. One kid had a buffalo chicken sandwich that he devoured (that little shit would eat a tire if it had Tobasco on it-Ryan, my bastard son.) Chase was OK with what he ordered (I think the buffalo wings) but said they were nothing special. Overall grade- D-.
Frank and Angie's Pizza- AWESOME. They have never let me down. I wanted to go back but we just didn't have time. Overall Grade- A+
Chuy's- Fantastic. Had it for lunch today on the way out of town. First time for all of us. It was GOOD. Overall Grade- A.
Twin Peaks-(me and the boys). Great scenery and good food. As expected. Overall grade- A (the cold beer and babes really pushed the grade up.
Can't remember the other places we ate at, but they will come to me.

Getting ready for vacation
Alright, finally. Me and the family (plus Ryan, my bastard son, aka, Chase's best friend) are heading to Austin 8-1 to hang around and goof off for 4-5 days or so. Check out the campus, and stadium and probably head down to Schliterbaun (sp?). Ya'll need to send me some good places to grab some grub. I know we;re gonna eat at Frank and Angie's once, and Hoovers (it'll be my first time there, gotta have the CFS, everyone says thats the best one). Not sure where else to go. We'll probably stay in a Residence Inn or something with a kitchen so we can go to the store and get some groceries to save a little money (cause I damned sure don't have much- thanks a lot President O-DAMN-A).
Send me some suggestions folks.

Worn the hell out, part 2
Well, last night didn't work out at the State Championship game. All I needed was for Mt. Pleasant to beat Nacogdoches at 5:30 and boom, I am home by 8 or so. But NO, FUCK NO. Nacogdoches beat them 4-2, so they had to play again at 7:30. No real biggie, I can wait a little while longer for beer. They warm up and we announce the teams and call "play ball". Everything was looking good, just waiting for Nacogdoches to win this next one too (they are the best team) and we're all headed home. Then as soon as the home team almost gets in position, lightning starts. I call bullshit and tell the announcer to get the kids off the field. It gets worse and we tell everyone to go to there cars.
So, after all that excitement and delay, I run across the street and buy me some beer for the evening. Get back over to the ballpark at around 9:30 and we are forced to cancel the 2nd game. So, its back to the ballpark again tonight for an 8:00 game, IF that is it quits raining. Its pretty much been at least a steady rain here since last night around 9, with some pretty ugly thunderstorms mixed in.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that lighting struck one of the fields light polls before we could get everyone out of the ballpark. Pretty intense too, it was within 30 feet or so of me and the other officials. It shut the lights down on our field and the one behind it, but turned on the lights at the other 2 fields even though the switches were turned off.

Worn the hell out!!!!!!
I am officially worn the hell out. My local baseball asssociation has been hosting 2 state baseball tournaments since Saturday. We crowned one 11-12 yr. old state champion last night and tonight we have 1 maybe 2 games and then get to crown a pure 11 yr. old state champion and then we are finally done.
I was at the ball park from 9:30 saturday morning until 12:45am Sunday and then back again at 10:30 Sunday until 10:45 sunday evening. Took the night off Monday and went back tuesday and last night until almost 11:00 again. Hopefully tonight I can get out of the ballpark by 10:00 and get home to actually see my family, and get in the pool and drink some beer and relax.
