The End Is Nigh...So, yeah... Here's a completely true story of something that signifies the end of all:
It was about ten, I had just finished watching The Winner, and decided to check out my RvB account to see if I had any new thread hits (which, oh god did I.... NEVER PUT THE HALO 3 THREAD ON WATCH!!!!) and began perusing the thread attempting to catch up with the 200+ some odd posts. While all this occurred a little box pops up in the corner of Firefox that tells me that I have a severe weather alert for my area. Odd I thought, it doesn't seem bad at all outside right now... So I open a new tab and click on the link to see what new threat Mother Nature is attempting to get the insurance claim for only to be met with the words I am about to write, and it states (verbatim):FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM EST MONDAY
Now, for an area like mine, a FIRE WATCH is (as incredulous as this might sound) the norm. So I figure either A) the bullshit the Accuweather site gives me: A COMBINATION OF RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS NEAR 20 PERCENT...WINDS
SUSTAINED AT 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH...AND DRYING FUELS MAY
LEAD TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS LOWER MARYLAND
EASTERN SHORE MONDAY MORNING INTO MONDAY EVENING.
ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON OUR FIRE
WEATHER WEB PAGE AT WEATHER.GOV/WAKEFILED/FIREMAIN.HTM
A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR. LISTEN FOR LATER FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE
RED FLAG WARNINGS.
Or B) God's way of saying the end is nigh, go do something for yourself!
... I choose the latter, now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go buy a cougar and pay a homeless person to wrestle with it.

Yeah...Someone mentioned that I should update this so I will keep you guys apprised.
I am finally reading Ghosts of Onyx, due in no small part to the user darksolgamer (aka Jimmysaurus), awaiting my own copy due here on Saturday... I have had too many bad experiences with shipping on time and Amazon... But then again they more than made up for that with shipping my Gears of War on time for tomorrow!!! Currently my plans stand at finishing Ghosts of Onyx and then skipping school tomorrow to play it all day long.
And about that short story. I believe that I will post an excerpt up here sometime soon to see what you guys think of it. If it is horrible, don't be afraid to say so, and vice versa. I am currently working on two of them so I might be overlong in putting that excerpt up, but know that it is coming, despite my shortcomings with things of that nature.
In between then and now I'll be sure to post some thoughts on the new mysteries that undoubtedly will be posed by Ghosts of Onyx as well as how much fun it is to chainsaw someone instead of melee chopping them in Gears of War.

Neill BlomkampHey guys I need you to check this now more than ever...
So here's the deal, I wrote up a question for the "Ask Neill Blomkamp" contest and it is currently in the top 5 of mod points and Flash, the one running the contest has said that the top five will go on to revoted on to decide the one. Now I'm asking you to go here and not to just vote blindly, but please if you agree that this should be asked, please mod it!
Right now it is barely in the top five and I want to stay there.
Here is the question: One of the hallmarks of the Halo series has been that it has a sort of epic feel to it, and the whole series focuses on the Cheif while at the same time leaving you wiht an ever intruding sense of "...having your backs up against a wall..." and "...heroes have flaws...", This leaves me wondering if you will be making the film with that same sense of epic, for lack of a better word, awareness, where not only is the story portrayed of whatever it covers but if it is still about, say Halo 1, that you can still get that realization that we are fighting this unstoppable foe and that this may well be our last stand, but still have the story focus in on the exploits of the main character without losing that underlying (pervading?) feeling? PLEASE SUPPORT ME IF THINK THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION!
And don't forget to look at the others to find one that may be more inclined to your tastes.

Where's Halsey?I think i have an idea of where Halsey went to, and it is a long shot and not exactly logically backed... but, here it is:
In FoR when Halsey gives the team their breif on what their new mission is, the one where they board a Covenant craft, she mentions very sneaky-sneaky like that there are still SPARTANs out there that were supposed to be on the operation but couldn't be recalled to Reach in time. So I think right now that she was going to take Kelly(?) and go find the other SPARTANs....
Now for the flaws in my idea,  If it was to get her comrades (kudos to Russia for that uber word!) why would Halsey drug her? If Halsey knew about these SPARTANs then obviously ONI would, and would have easily recalled them by the time First Strike started. Why all the secrecy if it is to get something the the marines would see as a juggernaut (go monsterous flood forms!) and raise moral, why not flaunt it?
There are also many other reasons but I couldn't think of them with nyquills effects on me so I'll stop for now....

Some new Ideas came into light when i finally read through First Strike again... First off, a quote:" There was so much to do and so little time left for her, the Spartans, and the human race. She could do something, though. She'd save them one person at a time, starting with Linda, then Kelly, and then a handful of very important oters.
Of course, it meant betraying everyone who trusted her--but if that was the only wy Dr. Halsey could save herself, and her soul, then she'd do it." pp.249 (First Strike)
This can be interpreted many different ways and a major portion of it is shoruded in mmystery... Who are these very important others? And how is Kelly and a lot of ammo going to help her do that? And on pages 272-273 it mentions that what she does will spark something that is unstoppable, bringing to mind a chain of events not just some singular spectacular all in one event. She goes on to mention that she will be past the point of no return in about two hours, which would essentilly mean that by the beginning of Halo 2 her events have already taken place. This is because Halo 2 really takes place one month after the end of FS. ( I believe Halo 2 starts in October and FS ends in Septmeber, if memory serves...)
One last thing, on 255, it mentions that Halsey has a look on her face like she regrets having healed Linda, is this just because she knows that she will just go on to resume killing or did something happen between the two of them or some such thing?
If you think of any flaws please post them, I'd also like to hear personal ideas, so if you have you're own theories post those as well...
PS: as a side note for all those out there in FoR, sorry no page nemuber at the time, it mentions, right before they get the mission breifing about the infiltration of a covenant ship, that there were some SPARTAN's that could not make it to Reach in time for the operation and hence could not be in the stories, augmenting the number of SPARTANs left by about 2-3.
PPS: If you have any theories pertaining to what the S-III folder on ackerson's computer might be, then please post that as well... I personally believe that it stands for SPARTAN III and they are going to be prefected Flash Clones of the SPARTAN II's.
