Daddy too soonI was to become a father August 30th of this year, but that will not happen. My wife had some medical complications and my son was born 3 months premature (26 weeks gestational age) on May 28th. He popped out at 1 lb 11 oz and 13-1/2" long. My wife was kept in the hospital for nearly a week before being released, but my baby boy will be there in the NICU for quite awhile longer. Little Braelee is doing well. He weighed in last night at a whooping 1 lb and 14 oz. He is currently breathing "room air" with no simulated breaths. No longer on any IV's, and up to 15mL of formula every 3 hours, which they will probably change from 20 calorie to 24 calorie today or tomorrow. Tonja and I have both been able to hold him a couple times. 3 weeks down and quite a few to go.

He seems to be making good progress.
With all this that your boy's going through, by the time he's 10, he'll be a warrior!
Gonna be a tough little man.
Again, congrats.
