Indie game of the year - SpelunkyI've spent countless hours playing roguelikes such as ADOM, nethack, dungeon crawl stone soup, and dwarf fortress; mostly because they offer incredibly deep gameplay that takes a long time to get good at. Also, they usually feature some manner of randomly content that is able to keep the game fresh after thousands of plays.
Enter Spelunky... it incorporates some of the best things about roguelikes (randomly created levels, permadeath, high degree of difficulty) and throws them into a platformer type game. It's incredibly well-made; full of charm and you can tell a lot of hard work and fine tuning went into it.

I'll give this a shot. :)
the roguelike I played the most lately is Unreal World. Damn is that game ever cool. if you havn't tried it yet, i suggest you do.
roguelikes are probably my favorite genre. it helps they run nicely on just about anything too.
