Canadians Worry That Female Hockey Players Go to U.S.

Canadian athletic officials gathered last weekend to discuss what they consider a worrisome trend: Most of the top female hockey players in the country go to colleges and universities in the United States, The Edmonton Journal reported. Many said that Canadian universities have failed to put enough money into their programs, frequently operating with just a head coach, and not the assistant coaches found on teams in the U.S.

Wait, so a socialist society (as many of Canadas universities operate similar to their healthcare, with free or reduced, albeit, substandard, education for all) is losing talented and valued members to a merit based culture south of the border, where individuals are rewarded for their skills, hard work, and dedication? Say it ain't so!

I have seen the same thing happen with Canadian doctors and nurses (there are some at my Girlfriend's hospital) they spend a year or more and their residency in Canada, and then after being disgusted with the system, move to the US to practice. One Canadian Nurse I spoke to said that Healthcare professionals there might as well be waitresses.
