Episode 2 reviewMy God, RT.

I have been TRYING to defend to Freelancer stuff. The fact there's more action than plot.
But all of my arguments go out the window when you released this episode.

First of all, there are two things I understand.
A.) When you release this on the DVD, this episode will blend very nicely. And I understand that that's how seasons are written. It's written as a movie, then it's written episode by episode. As an EPISODE, it slaps all old viewers in the face. You want plot? *smack* Fuck you, here's more action!
B.) If this was episode 7, I would have no problem. It's action-y filler. No big. BUT NOT FOR EPISODE 2.

Now back to the bitching.
The problem I'm having with the action scene is that it's just more of Carolina being a badass.
We established that last season. Please move on. It's getting boring.

And now to my biggest let down.
When I saw the trailer I saw The Mother of Invention being attacked by ships, shooting at shit, and being awesome. I was expecting an awesome space battle. I was hoping for some type of space battle.
...what I got was what was exactly in the trailer. God that was a let down.

The quality of the episode was nice, and the overall episode wasn't bad.
I'm sure this episode could have been so much worse.
The problem with it is...there's nothing gained from it.
Like I said before, it is completely filler, and when you're using filler in the second episode, something is wrong.

Also stupid little things like NORTH EJECTING A FUCKING UNUSED ROUND FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN 'IT LOOKS COOL'.

But there's no air rushing out or anything. And they don't enable grav boots until later.

I hate to say it, but I felt the same way. It was too much in too little time, in some cases, and too little in too much time in others. I loved seeing Wash, who was adorable as usual in these sequences. But... That's just it. We want to See more character moments, more personal development. They give us hints and pop over to something else. I understand they have a time crunch, but that means they needed to write it more cohesively.

I still love RvB. If I didn't, I'd be gone. I have hope that it'll all work out.

I want more of the twins personally. I want something that actually moves the plot along (or actually builds one), not just random fight scenes early in the season for no reason other than they look cool.

I'm not crazy about the twins, but I would like to see an answer to the theories about North's death, and how South apparently turned on him. And what was with the change in character? South is all "I'm a buddy" now?" Felt off after they've established her as an ...

raz0rblade RIP Ridley
From a technical standpoint, the stuff they're showcasing is so much better than it was in Season 9. There are lots of cool little details to pick out that require multiple viewings........but believe it or not, even I'm starting to feel just a touch underwhelmed. I've got a sense of "Been There, Done That", and I don't know how they could possibly top any of the set pieces from last summer.

Granted, it's still early. In terms of story, there is much left to be shown. They did the same thing last season, too........first episode was mainly humour and story, then they did a couple of action scenes before settling back into mostly traditional RvB machinima & storytelling for awhile until Episode 10. And that, as we all know, is when the SHIT hits the proverbial fan.

Tell me you're not looking forward to the inevitable Carolina/Tex smackdown? Even if we already know who's going to win, it should still be entertaining to watch. And let's not forget about Maine's transformation into The Meta, with none other than ELIJAH FREAKING WOOD dictating his every move.

So there's still plenty of room for optimism this year, which is why I'm reserving judgement on a per-episode basis. There's at least 18 more episodes to go, so we'll see what happens over the next three or four months.

I'm not bashing the season, and I'm still really pumped for it.
This episode just pissed me off. Maybe I've been watching too many online reviews today...

Anyway as I've stated, I know WHY it was set up the way it was, it just still pissed me off.
Filler in episode 2. Jesus fucking ...

Uh oh...sounds like somebody was disappointed. But I have to agree with you. It's like, all of a sudden we're back in the past again and we're watching the freelancers fight. And i find it weird if we watch episode 1 and 2 back to back :p

I'm here with you.
I mean, I love the newer animators and stuff, but they're kinda animating TOO much.
I'm afraid of what's to come. It might eventually end up to where there's no FUNNY at all.

I've been trying to deny it. And not admit things seem a bit too action-y.

But it's true.

Yes, it looks badass but it's still disappointing =(
