DC Universe Online - PCSo, its free to play. I've been reading the background comics, and apparently a few people on here have it, albeit on PS3 (*spits). Cross-platform play is not possible, so I will have to find some PC friends to game with. Perhaps for a team up or....a league of some sort.
Its my first foray into an MMO, so things should be interesting. Having familiar locales and characters, not to mention concepts, should provide a sufficient buoyancy aid for me to paddle about in the shallow end. Incidentally, this swimming analogy is not too much of a leap for me, as aww102 knows...
I've been downloading this over the past few days, all 18GB of it, and this morning I sat down to create my character. After watching the beautifully rendered opening sequence, I started on my character. Do I have a backstory? Yes! Am I taking the easy route and nicking aspects of my heritage? Absolutely!
My character is named Jie Huo Tian Jun, and in true Great Ten style, it means 'Celestial Prince who Receives Fire'. I've joined Wonder Woman's camp (so magical), and am a firecasting flier with dual wield abilities. Think I chose swords, because flaming swords are always funky.
Can't wait to start on it tonight!!
