CouchHey everyone. As many of you might not know, last year I worked for GameZombie TV, a student run web content site here at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I worked as a part of their audio team and I am/have returned as their Head of Audio Design. We worked on a little show called Couch and we are finally able to see the fruits of our labor. We will be releasing new episodes every week on Wednesday (same as the RT podcast :) ), so be sure to check it out. I am really proud of the team and all the people at GameZombie for all of their hard work and the talented cast of Couch as well for having to be happy during some of the more tedious parts of the setup. The only problem with the video I've seen is that my name isn't in the credits (which I will bringing to the editors attention for future episodes) but I composed the main theme for Couch, which happens after the cast introduces themselves, which I will also link below. In this episode, we are interviewing Jennifer Hale, probably best known as being the voice of Samus Aran and Female Sheppard from Mass Effect.

A New CompositionSorry for the wait everyone. I've been working a lot over winter break and I wanted to wait before I unveil my compositions I made while in GameZombie, which I will be returning as their Head of Audio Design.
This was one of the first pieces I made for them. The reason behind the name of the piece was when I asked what I needed to make music for, they did not have any final plans or videos in the making and they told me to make a piece "for something we might use", so I named it fittingly and it's kind of stuck since.
Anyway this is a bit of a breakaway for me, since my previous pieces were very classically inspired so I hope you guys enjoy it.

Something Different aka Happy New Year!I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year. I've been busy with work and composing, but I decided to upload something a little different.
I just finished an Arrangement class in college and this was my final project. I picked the piece for many reasons but one of the main ones was to celebrate the life of this amazing women composer. Originally an organ piece, I arranged it by hand for orchestra and my colleagues at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Symphony Orchestra peformed the piece and we were able to record it.
I would like to dedicate this arrangement to my girlfriend, who helped me copy parts for individual players and to my arranging instructor for his advice. I would also like to dedicate it to Florence Price and to other amazing women composers. Please remember that I didn't compose the piece and this was merely an arrangement of an already very beautiful piece of music. I only hope that this arrangement honors her memory.

Skyrim Christmas CarolSo I feel like I should explain myself a little for this. It's getting closer to Christmas so I was busting out my christmas tunes and I've been listening to some carols, specifically "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" specifically the Latin version (Veni, Veni Emmanuel), because I really love Latin as a language cause it sounds so epic. I'm also a huge fan of Skyrim and in the game there is a Dragon language which I thought also sounded epic, so I went to work trying to translate the words of the song into Dragon. It originally started as a straight translation but it kind of grew on its own. I'm thinking about putting in a fourth verse later, and I would like to see how many people can translate it. Anyway I hope you like it.
Meant to be sung to the melody of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel"
Verse 1: Meyz Meyz Dovahkiin Fin Saviik do Keizaal vahriin Tol Kel prodah diivon naal kein Aal Kul do Talos spaan fundein
Refrain: Huzrah, Huzrah Dovahkiin fent meyz wah lot Keizaal
Verse 2: Meyz faasnu Ysmir rein Voth ahkrin Alduin vukein Hokoron do Faal Lein ahrk Jul Qahnaar fin Dovah do Vokul
Refrain
Verse 3: Meyz fin krilot Vahlok do Thu'um Wen tuz fent Drem ahrk Aaz drun Aal hin zin ni kos vodahmin Ahrk nol Dinok suleyk kos stin.
Refrain
Update I just uploaded a video of myself singing this song on my YouTube channel Here is the link
New Alan Wake Screenshot AnalysisSo here is my analysis of the next Alan Wake game called Alan Wake: Night Springs, based on the screenshot given by Game Informer: 1. The most obvious part of the picture is that Alan Wake will either make an appearance or will be playable in this game. 2. It seems Alan has gotten some new threads, what this means in terms of the time placement of the story is uncertain. 3. The dark/light theme seems to still be in place due to Alan Wake holding a flashlight, indicating either similar or enhanced gameplay from the original Alan Wake. 4. If you look at Alan's right hand, there is a nail gun, which suggests either new weapons in the game or that weapons will be everyday household items/power tools/not guns. 5. If you look to the left you will see a Safe Haven, again hinting at similar gameplay mechanics of the original. 6. Also to the left is a new building called the Desert Shore Hotel, which is either a main story element, new location to investigate in the game or perhaps suggested to be the opposite half of the Majestic Hotel in the original. 7. In the background on the left, you can faintly make out the word 'Diner' on an illuminated sign. It is at this point unclear, but it may be the 'Oh Deer Diner', due to the matching sign colors and symbol above the 'Diner'. 8. If you look to the right past the glow of the flashlight, you will see a green sign that states "Night Springs 15m", suggesting that the main adventure will be in Night Springs. What this means in terms of stories is still unclear. 9. It is very faint, but toward the upper right of the screenshot, there appears to be another building. Upon examination, it seems to have very similar characteristics of the Power Plant/Dam from the first game, suggesting that perhaps Night Springs and Bright Falls may be one and the same. What this means however is unknown.

New Compositions!!!....finallySo I have realized that I haven't posted any new music in a long time, but thanks to my new gig at GameZombie.tv, I have been composing none stop. So I will start to adding new compositions to my Youtube page as well as here on the community site. I really hope you guys will enjoy them. I am using some new equipment and Garage Band so the sound is actually decent, so I'm pretty happy about that. To get started, I will be linking one of my newest compositions here just in time for the holidays. I got into the Halloween spirit and composed an atmospheric piece for the occasion. I will have another composition up on Halloween that also celebrates this mystifying time of the year. So without further to do, here is my new composition Horror
