DEADLINE TEASER TRAILER!

Since you guys have been so awesome and have supported Deadline since day one, I’m going to give you something extra... the text form commentary for the teaser! Go watch the teaser first then read this.

0:01 - The music for this teaser is from a song called Mental Home, written and performed by my uncle. It’s the only song on the soundtrack that isn’t from a band that has a album widely available, but he music fit the film so perfectly and I like getting my uncles music in my stuff if possible.

0:03 - Bird!

0:04 - The establishing shot of one characters home... which is also where I live. I love the Richard Donner style pan up. it turned out really well.

0:10 – The producer and I were having a very hard time figuring out what kind of teaser to do for the film. We didn’t want to give away to much of the plot, we also didn’t want to to be like every single other indie film teaser, so we came up with this idea, we get to show some of the cool footage from the film and it also teases the audience to what it’s about. the goal is by the end you think “that looks cool... wait what’s it about? I want to know more.”

0:17 – The guy on the left is also one half of the DoP team. We had two cinematographers who worked together really well, Zach and Ashley, and Zach also plays a supporting role in the film.

0:18 – This character is named and semi based off a friend of mine from this site, SharpAsATack, or Billy.

0:22 – The font for these cards is based off the font from the poster.

0:30 – BigNiceJohn of this site is acting in the film, getting hit with a paintball. John has the honour of being the only person other then myself and the writer, Tim, that has been involved with Deadline since it was first thought of back in 2007.

0:51 – I really love this shot. Nothing else to say, but I was super happy with how the mirror shot turned out.

0:57 – If you look on the left side of the screening, the tall gentlemen in the suit is none other then Dimono.

1:01 – The Hunter S. Thompson looking dude sitting at the bar behind the action is Tim, or Foolsfolly, the writer of Deadline, in his cameo. He bussed up to Toronto from Tennessee to be in the film.
