My thoughts on xbox one:Alright, I'll be sticking to the things people are attacking it for, the other stuff is probably either cool with me or I don't care. Now, people are going to disagree with me on some of this, and to them I say: This isn't about how well the system will do because of what it has, nor is it about whether or not that's the right thing for them to do, it's just my opinions and how it effects me, which is the only real decider in whether or not I buy it or a desktop PC.
Multimedia Functions: I probably won't be using these, as I have a computer, which is better at them, however I don't see them as a negative thing, they're just kinda there. In fact, I'...

Multimedia Functions: I probably won't be using these, as I have a computer, which is better at them, however I don't see them as a negative thing, they're just kinda there. In fact, I'm not paying for cable while I'm in college, so that part goes out the window too.
Installed games from discs and the question of used games: Okay, for one, I really couldn't give less of a shit about used games. I only buy new games, so I couldn't care less. Not only that, but I don't really like the discs in the first place. It's one thing I love about PC gaming, however, I hope waiting for the install from a disc doesn't take long or games are up in the marketplace at launch.
Always-On can be enabled by developer: another surprise for people so radically against this, but I really don't care. The only time I don't have internet is when I don't have power, in which case I can't play it anyway. I doubt this will change in Boston, but if it does I'll just buy a portable hotspot to fix the problem.
The look: At least I know what it looks like unlike another console I could mention. Besides, I couldn't care less what it looks like anyway, and if you do, then you're a very vain person.
The controller: Well, it's basically the current one with programmable feedback triggers, the middle buttons replaced by two I'll probably never use, and a better d-pad. There's no random screen thrown on, so it gets good marks in my book.
No Backwards compatibility: I rarely go back and play games, and I don't sell old consoles, so while it will be a pain in the ass to set up an older console just to play an old game, it's not that big of a deal to me, and the PS4 has the same problem. In the end I'd just buy it for cheap on my laptop and not deal with it, since my laptop can run any game from this generation, albeit at lower settings for some of the better looking ones.
Concluding thoughts: I'm not sure if I'll be buying this or not, it really depends on its price in comparison to building a good desktop PC that can play all its games.
