Funeral TroubleWell I just came back from my cousins funeral. I meant to post this earlier but my internet has decided to be a douche bag until now. Basically my cousin has had
a stroke around 2 years ago. However she wouldnt tell the family what it was that caused it. She just said whatever she could that sounded plausible. It would
seem however that she had contracted HIV at some point and time anywhere from her age of 17-23. However she sank deep into denial and just decided that if
she ignores it, it cant hurt her. In the end when she was 27 she had a stroke and lost feeling in most of her right side. She started refusing to take her medicine
and still refused to tell anyone outside her mother and sister what was wrong with her. 2 years after her stroke she started contracting weird diseases and was
bedridden for around 5 weeks and she finally told us all that she had AIDs. The doctors told her that it was too late and there was nothing they could do seeing
how she was in the advanced stages. On her death bed she stayed in denial and asked my aunt to rent her a computer because she decided she would go back
to school. I thought it was ironic that once she has a death sentence the idea of finishing her education was appealing. She died around 2 weeks ago and we
drove down to Louisiana for her funeral on saturday before last. It was rather fun actually. As usual with my family they do everything they can to not concentrate
on whats happening during funerals. So as is tradition every drank as much liquor as possible and continually brought soda to the house. There was around 10
stacks of soda before we left.
I really thought itd be civil however as is tradition someone had to start trouble. This time it didn't come from my side of the family. Her fathers side of the family
showed up. Honestly we were shocked he came. He didnt care to be apart of her life up until now anyways so it was a shocker to see his entire clan show up.
Again we didnt care as long as they were respectful. They were fine throughout most of the funeral, however as we walked around to conduct the last viewing of
the body his wife erupts into howls of supposed grief, then as the ushers tried to soothe her fake lamenting she started fighting them to see the body then her
husband (the father) got up and started howling too. Everyone on their side of the family were believing it, however I think my side of the family are a bit more
cunning then theirs not to mention classy. The woman was well known for her dislike of my cousin and had admitted it on more than one occasion however now
shes hopping up and down screaming (without a singular tear in her eye) We really werent happy about it but I suppose some people think there's supposed to
be someone screaming at such events. However my side of the family believe in silent lamentation.
