We moved. Last month. LOVE THE PLACE! I almost have everything unpacked too! IT's the same floorplan as the old apartment we lived in before moving into batshit-fucking-crazy-land and is with the same rental company. Much less stressed and a lot happier.

I bought a sewing machine this week and I'm now using both of my mothers to teach me to sew. Guess that's going to be an adventure.

Work is going awesome and it's nice having a grownup job where I have responsibilities, respect and a reasonable paycheck (though I'd like a raise). I'm happy in my work for the first time ever.

      happy menardi smiley12.gif

So we dealt with the fucking landlord. We have a court order to move by the 7th (relief) and we will be free of the horrid bitch that is my current landlord. Then we will be back with our old rental company and less batshit insanity.

Expect not to see much of me for the next few weeks. I have to move next week.

just was looking for apartments tonight (because of the crazy landlord situation) and I saw that the apartments that I lived in several years ago have an opening. I'm jumping on that! they have great rent prices, are amazing about maintenance and are NOT CRAZY!!! MUST HAVE NEW APARTMENT.

      Email ([email protected])

      Dear One,
      My warmest greeting to you.

I am Miss Rita Benson, the only daughter of (Late) Mr. & Mrs Raymond Benson, my mother died when I was young, then my father been a caring man took very good care of me till November 2TH 2011 Presidential Election here in my country that was when all my joy turn to sorrow. I inherited an important sum from my late father who died recently in presidential election crisis in Cote d'Ivoire .

Before his death on November 2TH 2011, he gave me all the necessary legal documents which he used to deposit the fund in the bank here in my country. I am 24 years old now and a university undergraduate and really don't know what to do. Now i want an account in overseas where i can transfer this funds and after the successful transaction i will come and reside permanently in your country till such a time that it will be convenient for me to return back home if i so desire.

Please my dear lovely one, I wish to request for your urgent assistance in investing this sum in a lucrative venture or manufacturing and real estate management in your country. I have Six million, Five hundred thousand United State Dollars USD. ($6,500,000) to invest in this transaction and I will require your assistance in receiving the fund with trust in your account in your country. I will gladly give you a reasonable percent from the total sum for your assistance immediately i come over to join you.

This is because I have suffered a lot of set backs as a result of incessant political crisis here in Ivory coast. The death of my father actually brought sorrow to my life. I also want to invest the fund under your care because i am ignorant of business world. I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this regards.

Your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded. Now permit me to ask these few questions:

1Can you honestly help me from your heart?
      2. Can I completely trust you?
      3. What percentage of the total amount in question will be good for you after the money is in your account?

Please always reply me through my private e-mail for more details, I will gladly send you my pictures as soon as i hear from you so that you will know who you are dealing with.

      Via [email protected]

      ([email protected])

I am waiting for your immediate respond.

      Thanks
      Yours
      Miss Rita Benson.

I have a confession to make:

      I am a hoarder

Now this bears a tiny bit of explanation. I'm not the type or hoarder that collects shit from garbage cans, or collects 80 cats, or has huge piles of garbage everywhere. I'm not like those shows on TLC and A&E where your reaction is like "OMFG...WTF?! how do they live?" My house is not a health code violation. But I'm still a hoarder. My problem is that I keep bills. And papers. And computer parts (that funnily are like 5 years old and will never be useful again) And things that I think will be useful (little bits like screws and tools from kits)

But the worst violation is the papers: the bills, the statements, the documents. I have boxes filled with them. There have been occasions where I have had to pull a bill from 2009, but its rare. I know that for tax purposes, it's good to keep a 5-7 year record, but do you realize how much paper that is?!

Strangely enough, with my new job at the bank, I have found a solution that everyone can be happy with. I can continue to hoard my papers, but I don't have to haul around all of the boxes and search through the unorganized clutter when I am trying to find a bill when I'm arguing with T-Mobile about a bill for 2 hours. The answer? Laserfische

Laserfische is the program we use at work to digitize all of our documents. We have to keep most of our files for at least 5 years and all of our signature cards for pretty much forever. So instead of having bulky cabinets filled with the agreements that are branch specific, my work has them on a company-wide database that makes it easy to reference and use for pretty much anything when it comes to compliance with Federal regulations and the like. So if it works so well for them, why don't I do the same thing?

And I am. My husband let me buy a scanner (I got a decent but inexpensive one) and I am now in the process of digitizing about 7 million boxes of papers. Actually it's closer to about 7 years worth of statements, bills and any important documents. My scanner has pretty good software and I'm able to categorize everything and put it on a backup hard drive. Pretty much, problem solved. Now I just have to work on it every few nights, along with all my other projects and I can finally have a little less paper and a little more space in my life. And the best part? a hard drive is much easier to move than a bunch of boxes of paper. And I can have a double back up on dvds (which I have a ton of as well).

      WIN. smiley13.gif

So according to my ghetto neighbors I drive like a mexican. Not exactly sure what that means.

I was driving faster (mostly the speed limit) and jamming to Disturbed. Is that what people of latin descent do when they drive home from work at night?

Heh, nice. I'm a little less vocal, mostly because I can't understand what anyone's saying through my headset. Too bad you were never on reach at the same time as me, that would've been interesting. But yeah, I need to preorder a copy. The full multiplayer's gonna be pretty awesome I'm sure.

I saw that acer on the woot sellout...do you think I can get a 6-cell battery for it? I'm not too concerned about hard drive space, i have a terabyte external drive, but I am worrried about battery life...

Meh. You could probably buy a 6-cell battery for it separately, but at that point, you're probably better off buying a brand new one instead of refurbished.

You could always fly up to Vancouver and then road trip it to T.O. with other people. We get a lot of people from out west at the event, so it shouldn't be hard to find somebody who could help you out.

To be honest I haven't had much to do with any of those particular vehicles, take your choices back to the car help thread or the help me choose. You should be able to get more(hopefully useful) opinions.

And the Wii is for kids & parents, right?

I still don't regret my decision of having supported Nintendo from the beginning........the Virtual Console stuff alone has me in old-school gaming heaven, and there are enough good games on it if you know what to look for. There's still stuff from two years ago that I want to play but haven't gotten around to.

Super Mario Galaxy and De Blob are a couple of platformers that I really want to try, and when I go to pick up The Conduit next month I'm going to put down a pre-order for Metroid Prime Trilogy. And that's before we get to whatever gets unveiled at E3 in a few weeks........

Bottom line for me is that if I I'm gonna end up buying a PS3 before a 360, just on the basis of all these horror stories about busted systems and incompetent tech support. At least, I'd be getting a PS3 if I weren't already upgrading my DJ kit this summer........

I think my obsession with women & ties started when I saw Pretty Woman for the first time on late-night TV when I was in high school. The scene when Julia Roberts greets Richard Gere in nothing but the necktie she'd bought for him. Ask any guy, and they'll tell you that they'd love nothing better than to come home to find their girlfriend lounging around the house like that........ smiley0.gif

The expanding foam is hard when it dries, and I think I could crack it. Don't want to do that. At least not on the outside where it would show.

    • AgentSmith

Yeah, very boring. Mostly because most every area in the game I went to back when I played looked exactly the same as the area before it. A world of endless cities would just be depressing...

Yeah, when my console got the RRoD, I just bought a new unit and put my existing hard drive on it. I did eventually call up MS and they ended up just replacing it, so now I have an new Xbox 360 on its way here.

    • raz0rblade

The controls were actually the one thing that I liked the most about the game. It felt exactly like playing RE4 on the Gamecube, but aside from that and the graphics I can't actually recommend it to anyone........
