It has been far too long

It has been a while from my last post and really only a couple of things have happened. The birth of my nephew Harvey and the wife and I might be moving into a new place come October! My little rolly pollie shit machine of a nephew is one handsome little devil! He's a big boy too, 9lbs 4oz, 23 inches tall. So we got to see all the family with the birth of the little guy.

I am really looking forward to moving out of our old place. We have been here for 5 years and it has been nice but the land lord doesn't really give a shit about the place. So it will be nice to move into something bigger and better. I promise not to be a stranger and show my face around here more often. I missed you all!

      A long time coming

August is going to be crazy for me! Have you ever had this happen to you? The universe just throws so much at you in a 2 week period and once you have everything set up and all planed out something else comes along and tries to to wiggle its way into the line up. It's going to be fucking crazy, but I can't complain because most of it is positive! My new nephew is going to be born sometime around the 11th of August, the wife and I might possibly be moving into a new place so we have to pack up our stuff, TAXES ( that's not a good one) just to name a few. Other than that life has been moving along at a very pleasant pace and found some new hobbies in Saltwater Fishing and I am very interested in camping! So we will see just how well a nerd and the outdoors mesh!

      Dollars and sense....

Thinking about all the great experiences I had with my Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Cube, Wii, and Game boy. Right now I feel such a disconnect with Nintendo. I think my days as a Nintendo gamer are over, I can't see myself owning the WiiU or the 3DS. Everything both of these systems has to offer feels as though Nintendo is trying to grasp onto something and find their niche in the market place. Nintendo used to set new standards in the market place and now they are playing catch up. I remember being so excited about eh Wii and couldn't wait to see what it was like to swing Links sword, shoot a arrow from his bow, or throw his boomerang. Just the level of immersion it offered into the games we loved pulling us in that much more, but in the end it seems like the Nintendo I knew and grew up with lost itself. It started catering to a mass audience of the so called "casual gamer" and occasionally throwing their loyal fan base a bone with titles like Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers, or just porting over a oldie but goodie. I hope they get back on track with the WiiU and the 3DS but so far it doesn't look too good. I think Burnie has a valid point as they do keep releasing the same content over and over but with a new spin on it. To me it's just not worth my hard earned dollars.

      Chaotic Good

So I am going through my collection of games and finding the titles that got pushed aside to play something else that grabbed my attention, also games that require two play throughs. I found out something about myself. I find it so hard being the bad guy. Mass Effect 1&2, Fable 2&3, Dragon Age 2 and for fucks sake Bio-Shock 1. I had to sit back smoke a cigarette, take a shot of whiskey, and sat back for about 15mins to really think about if I wanted to go down this path and of course I didn't. After beating the game I didn't even go back to get the other ending....I just can't do it, I am chaotic good at best people. When playing Mass Effect 1 and I punched the news reporter I laughed in shock and just cringed at how much of a douche my guy was. I am having a great time with the game and I think it might open me to the path to the Dark Side but let me tell you. It hasn't been a easy door to open but I really am enjoying the change of pace it has offered me. I really am looking forward to being a murderous asshole in Fable and Dragon Age.

      A+ or F-

Some times the industry misses the mark on a game or movie. Lately I been seeing critics slamming Duke Nukem Forever but I have been hearing mostly positive remarks from gamers themselves. Every one knows it's not setting any bench marks in gaming but people are having fun and enjoying themselves. So whats the big deal?

      GRRRRR

So..I woke up today at a early 9am with my morning wood guiding me to the coffee maker like it was a dowsing rod, only to see that some one stole one of our work trailers. With my Detective skills at peak performance because I been playing L.A. Noir and watching lots of Death Note, my deduction prowess is like a puma on meth! So I've pieced it all together.....in my head "My trailer is supposed to be there....but it's not.....huh......did my mom take it....no, she doesn't have keys." SOME ONE STOLE MY FUCKING TRAILER! I was mad but thank god I didn't have my coffee yet because I was too lazy to be pissed off. So I drank my coffee and called the police and got a fucking answering machine. My wife and I met up with our friend from out of town and went out to lunch and ate at this great steak house. Then we came home and went out and bought a shotgun, a Mossberg 500 12 gauge that my wife feels a connection with. Now I have to drop 700$ to get a lojack installed on our trailer because I do not want to be out another 3000$. Really my only saving grace today was my wife and awesome friends and the thought that I know can put a couple rounds of bird shot into someones ass!
