      Last Man Standing

I am here to tell you about something. Yes, I am going to pimp something out like I did with Chuck previously. Not to insinuate that the cast or crew of the show are in any way hos. I just want to share with you something that you might like enough to purchase and will give you pleasure. Wait, let me start this again.

OK, you like comic books/graphic novels, right? Of course you do. So that means you'll just love this. Last Man Standing is about a guy, a guy named Gabriel. He's a pretty big deal in the LMS universe. He's actually a pretty big guy physically as well. Bit of a superhero. Just without the cape and all the flying bits. Things went horrible for him. Framed for a crime he didn't commit and locked away. One day he escapes and begins his journey to find out the important questions, who and how. And his journey he'll meet a myriad of characters. Burlesque dancers, ninjas, robots, genetically mutated hybrids (such as the half-man half-shark Jawesome) and a whole host of other pretty bad ass folks. Violence, sex, hot chicks (and a couple mancakes), mutants, awesome unique weapons and more awesome! Aren't you just a little bit interested? I know you are.

Pop over to the main site:
      LMS-Killbook

Or take a gander at some of the art of the book here:
      LMS art

Now that you've seen all the awesome and you want to make sure you can own it yourself. No worries! Take a stroll over to the Heavy Metal site and click on one of the links right there on the main page.

I've already ordered mine. Why don't you join me. You wouldn't want to be left out of the next big thing, would you?

      Chuck (yes, again)

Yes it's more Chuck. No I will not stop. And yes I'm having a fictitious conversation with you, the reader, before I've even finished writing it. Don't judge me. Anyways, I come before you once more to ask that you watch Chuck. Why? Besides the fact that ratings have been less than awesome this show deserves to be watched be you. It is a nerd/geek's dream. Action, humor, spies, ninjas, explosions, hot chicks, '80s throwbacks, guns and yes, even romance. You see all that? That's like a Christmas lottery. Every week. You like Christmas right? Of course you do, it has lights and singing and free stuff. Joy to the world and all that wonderful twaddle.

But in all seriousness, I really think you should at least give the show a chance. It's a great show. Full of humor and heart that is great entertainment. The cat and crew pour themselves into it for just that purpose. To entertain. And they do a damn fine job. I only wish that attitude was more prevalent in the industry. Tell your friends about it. Try to get them to tell their friends about it. It's not all that hard really. Just hop over to the wiki page, or the official site, or if you're feeling frisky the imdb page, and read the synopsis then tell your friends. The lazier among you can just link them the aforementioned sites. If you don't' want to recommend something without first seeing it yourself then hope over to Chuck's WB page and give the first couple episodes from the first season a go. Then link your friends. Then buy the dvds (What? A guy can dream). Just spread the word as much as possible. Do it for me. Or for the children. They are our future or something.

Note: I copied this blog from my pwned.com blog. It seems perfect so why mess with it.

Epic trailer. I cannot wait to sink my soul into this game. I have a feeling it will be as epic if not more than the trailer indicates.

      Chuck Me

How many of you watch Chuck?

If you don't you really should give it a go at least once. It's smart, funny, nerdy, sexy and just plain awesome. Geek references, humorous dialog and of course the wonderfully beautiful ladies that fight in various outfits. It's fun for the whole family!

For those of you who do watch, get more people to watch damnit. I demand nothing short of perfection.

    • jtmitchell87

Yeah, I'd be pissed to shell out $129 and have the thing die hours after getting it.

I couldn't pass up that deal. The Collector's edition for $44(ish) with free two day shipping. Especially with the standard one being $10 more expensive.

    • jtmitchell87

Ah, so it's like how GTA II shifted to GTA III?

Yeah, I liked the collector's edition setup if only for the bobble head and lunch box (NO MORE BROWN BAGGING IT, YES). I really liked the look of the survival edition, but $129 for a game I'm not even sure about is too big of a risk.

I'm not even getting the super editions of Ghostbusters or Arkham Asylum and I know I'll enjoy those.

That coming from you means a lot.

As soon as I read that first review I was sold on it. Being that I haven't played any of the previous games I had worried that I wouldn't like it.

But I was the same for Oblivion.

Which is good. I just prefer not to spend time watching the movie versions, since..I usually just get disappointed.

      >D I have more fun playing again and blasting through mah enemies.

    • Aoina InvScreen

Yep exactly. Which sucks. I just wish they'd give it a different title for the movie and say "Based off the game." Because they never truly are the game, just a different story, many times a poorly written one, in often the same environment.

Which if they could do this successfully then that'd be good, but so far no dice.

Adapting a story from one medium to another is always difficult. The only time it ever kind of works out is if you are going from a movie to a book. When you make a video game into a movie it's really hard. You have to squeeze hours and hours of story and experience into an hour and a half to two hours. It's a monumental task. You have to consider what information is manditory for the core story, how the story itself would work in a non-interactive format. And then you have to consider the appeal of the story to the general population. Not everyone is a gamer. As much as everyone hates to admit it, they're in it for the money. And that's dependant on how appealing it is to a large group of people. It's a hard greedy thing really.

Preeettty much summed up the entire reason there really can never be a good game to movie adaptation. There is too much to fit into such small time. Most of the time it's from a FPS standpoint game to a movie screen which can not transition. For Bioshock specifically I do not feel the movie or film business could possibly do it justice.

Or, if they were to make a true to the game movie adaptation it'd have "Kite Runner syndrome." Where the movie only makes sense to those who have read the book/played the game. And then they lose the moneys since they are trying to appeal to everyone.

      Tis sad.
