      I'm a hopeful guy

Hello! Wow it's been a LONG time since my last journal post. How about some updates! Honestly, times have been pretty rough lately. I haven't really been able to much of my video game work as I am constantly working my barely minimum wage job. I had to stop college since I am working extra just to pay off bills. I still dream every single day of working as some kind of journalist in the video game world. I have 17 years of video game experience so I think I qualify :) Hopefully one of these days someone will see the potential in me. I hope so. I believe.

      It's been awhile.

So it's been about a month since my last post. Over the last month not much has happened. I bought Dead Island and Gears 3 and both of them did not disapoint! My next game I am buying is Battlefield 3! I would love to buy Arkham City but due to a tight budget I will just have to wait. My machinima work is put on hold right now also because of the fact that my computer can't handle anything! >:( It's going to be a long time before I will be able to record anything seeing as I will have to buy a whole new computer. Macbook Pro souns pretty good to me. I am learning one thing when I write these journals; I love to write! Besides trying to get into the world of video games by machinima I am going to try and break into it by writing. Sure, I'm not perfect at punctuation and will at times spell a word wrong, but isn't that what proof readers are for! Wish me luck!

      SO MANY GAMES

I just realized that Tuesday marks the beginning of a VERY packed fall and Holiday season for games. Dead Island kicks it all off which I think looks promising. Gears 3 swiftly follows on the 20th. And so on and so on. I think I am going to have to start working overtime at my job just so I can get each of these games! I'll work whatever hours to get all my games. Little sleep, here I come for the next 3-4 months!

      Extra

One thing I have been a little disappointed with is my microphone for voice recording. Not exactly clear and lots of static. I'm really hoping its just because I've done something wrong because I spent quite a bit on that mic!

      Learning the Ropes

So, day 2 with my recording equipment! Slowly but surely I am learning how to create great looking videos with my computer. Right now I am taking extra time to really learn what camera angles look good and for certain events. I don't expect to be an expert in a day but I just feel as though I have a knack for this type of work.

      Made My First Step

Today I took the first step to getting my foot into the world of video games and machinima. I purchased a microphone to start recording and a pvr to start recording my gameplay! I have no intention of trying to be a showoff and put videos of multiplayer matches (I'm not that good anyways!) So all of my equipment arrives tomorrow and I can start my journey!

      Here's to a new beginning!

      Those Small Funny Good Feelings

So, I just added my gamertag to my profile and looked and saw that I had exactly 30,000 gamerscore. I had that same feeling like when you go to the store and you're total is $30 dollars even.

The smallest things in life seem to make me happy :)

      Making My Way

To think, I'm just about to turn 20 years old in about another month! Something even crazier, that means I've been playing video games for 17 years of my life. I remember fondly the very first game I played. Super Mario World on the SNES. My older brother and sister would never let me play because apparently a 3 year old could never play video games. Then school started for them. Everyday for 6 hours a day I practiced and practiced. One day they came home and I challenged them to play. It wasn't even fair for them. I single handedly beat both of them! From that point on I could never get enough of video games. I would say ever since winning in that duel probably only 30 days have gone by where I not once touched a video game. Now I'm not that "gamer" who lets the games control their life. I go out with my friends as soon as they ask. I've often been referred to as the coolest nerd you will ever meet, the life of the party. So as I approach my 20th birthday I started thinking, what am I going to do with my life? I could go to school, try to be an accountant, or be a lawyer, but I know I would never truly be happy with those jobs. It's completely obvious to me now that my passion is for video games. It's completely obvious to me that my job should, no, has to be in the gaming community. Some jobs require 2 or 4 years experience to be qualified, well I have 17 years! So from this point on I will do whatever it takes to get my dream job. I will put in as many hours, days, years as it takes. I know I can do this and am very excited at the journey I'm setting myself on to! :) Wish me luck!!!
