      sorry...

been crazy busy with our move at the end of month. I'll update more about Baby Arya when I can. Also trying to bum 10 bucks off my husband so I can be a sponsor again. Not making any of my own money has it's downsides.

      Being preggers in 2012.

Sorry about that, things been crazy, and getting ready for this move is draining me. The rest of the update of what I've been up to in this journal.

So Jan. 2012 started off with a wondering of why I hadn't had my monthly visitor in a while. I admit I have never kept the best track of it, and perhaps wasn't fully protected...I went to my GYN mid Jan to find out that I was pregnant. While blame is not put on either one of us in this instance, we weren't prepared for it. But Joey, being the gentleman that he is, pretty much proposed to me when we found out. and we didn't get married because of the baby, we had been thinking about it for a while, this just kind of rushed things. Marriage was planed for the beginning of May.

So anyway at that first appointment at my GYN we guesstimated I was already around 11 weeks, and I heard a heartbeat! My due date was put around August 20. At 18 weeks in March, I had my first ultrasound. This is when things started to look not so great. The found the baby's bowels dilated, which they shouldn't be seen at all. It could have been any number of things, but it was hard to tell with a baby still developing.

So we were sent to the Advanced Fetal Care Center at Boston Children's Hospital, where over the next 4 months, I had many ultrasounds, an MRI, and an Echocardiogram on her. (we knew it was a girl fairly early on.) Many things they found out, others would have to be seen after she was born.

One thing that was known from all the imaging done was that she had some Heterotaxy. Now if you look Heterotaxy up, it's usually in reference to the heart, and heart defects, but overall Heterotaxy is your organs in the wrong place. Extreme Heterotaxy would be your heart on the right side of your body instead of the left. Well they found out she had some heterotaxy, thanks to her liver, which instead of being a large part and a small part like normal, it was two large parts. And while her liver functions fine, this pushed other organs out of place. Her heart and her stomach were more in the center of her chest. Another thing that is part of Heterotaxy is not having a spleen which she doesn't. But many people live fine without a spleen, you just need extra antibiotics and such throughout your life.

As for the enlarged intestines, they still weren't sure what was going on. Possibilities of blockage or not being connected at all were floating around. We were told of Short Bowel Syndrome, or Short Gut, which if they needed to cut out some of her intestine, and then there wouldn't be enough to absorb nutrients, is what SBS is. We had to wait until she was born to find out for sure. We knew after she was born at one of the hospitals near Children's, she would be going right into the NICU at Children's Hospital.

By the way, May 5th we were married, in a fairly small ceremony up in Maine, but it was a lot of fun with our family.

Well, she decided she wanted to come a month early and at around 3:30AM on July 15, I woke up to found my water broke. A bit of panic ensued. We weren't fully prepared for her being early, I didn't even know who to call yet. So after a bit of calming down and searching, we made the call and went to the hospital where I was going to give birth. Other than my water breaking, I was feeling nothing, but because of her known problems, they wanted us in right away. So once we got there, and they got me in a room, they wanted to induce right away, because once your water breaks, the baby is prone to infection, and since I wasn't feeling any contractions yet, they wanted to get things moving.

Unfortunately, things really weren't moving at all on Sunday. I was still barely dilated. I honestly was bored out of my mind, but I couldn't move around too much since they wanted to keep a fetal monitor on me. By Sunday evening though I was starting to feel a bit, felt like menstrual cramps at first, that progressively get worse and stop for a while. I remember after watching Simpsons and Family Guy I had a wonderful shower that made me feel great at around 9 at night. Cramps were getting more painful as the night progressed and by 3 in the morning, I was in a lot of pain. Because they were inducing though, I could get an epidural at any time, which I did around 3:30 in the morning July 16. After that, between 4 and 7 I had a wonderful 3 hour sleep. I remember waking up, looking at the fetal monitor and seeing I had a contraction and not feeling it. That was totally surreal.

Well by 8 they wanted me to start pushing. So off and on between 8 and 11 I pushed for a while and then rested. by 11 though things were getting going so lots of pushing. She took after me and had a big head so they had to use one of those vacuum thingies to help her a long. and at 1:24pm, Monday July 16, Arya Christine Holmes was born. After 34 hours from my water breaking, I was freaking exhausted. Held her a bit, and cried because I'm that kind of sap. They took her down to their NICU and once she was stable they transported her 2 blocks to Children's NICU. I Moved down to the recovery room, and after a bowel of Chicken Noodle soup, slept until the evening, when I had the most delicious subway sandwich ever.

Well, this one has been long, and there is another 6 months to cover. So I'll end this one here, and do another one later. Lots to talk about with Arya.

      Aug. 2010 to Dec. 2011

So what I've been up to journal number 1.

August 2010 found me in a lull again in my love life. But, one of my classmates from high school, Joey, found me on facebook and we started talking. One day in August I found that he had send me flowers. Well, none of my previous boyfriends had ever giving me flowers, so it was a step the right direction. Then, the clincher, he came 550 miles, from Mass. to VA, just to take me out on a date on August 14.
He even dressed up nice too.

So we started dating from afar, but in mid Sept 2010 he asked me to move up to Mass with him. And so I did. We lived in Quincy, MA from Sept 2010 to Feb. 2011. We had WoW in common and played a lot back then, plus lots of other nerdy activities. Nov. 2010 I started babysitting His best friend's son, for a little money.

in Feb. 2011 we moved to Waltham, living with his best friend, wife and son. I continued to baby sit a few months more until they put him in preschool. Spring and Summer of 2011 I tried to find a job, when not doing that, playing WoW and other games. by Oct. 2011 I got a supervisor position at the local Target. And worked there until Dec. 2012. So 2011 wasn't that exciting, but 2012... that's the next journal, coming soon.

      THE TRIMMING

So, now that I'm back, I trimmed the friend/watch list. Anyone who hasn't been on in over a month is gone. Under a month, HELLO! You are still my friend! It's a sad pathetic list of 25, (I had around 200 at one point...) but you are the active ones (or at least, have checked in the past month so kinda active?)

I need more friends, but I don't want to get too active in the threads until I watch Season 10, which will probably be tomorrow if my husband Joey isn't too tired to watch it after his overnight maintenance for his job tonight.

I'm pretty much no longer on facebook, but do check twitter and post random 140 character silliness there. @noirakita, obviously.

Tomorrow I will do the BIG LONG JOURNAL about how my life has been. Maybe I'll break it down into easy to swallow chunks. Smaller, edible journals. From the move to Mass in Sept. 10, to the interesting '11, to the crazy '12 with the wedding and the baby.

Need to update the profile too.

      But now...sleepy time.

      Hello again...

So yeah, last time I was here was April. Married May 5, had my baby July 16 (Arya, yes she's named after Arya from Game of Thrones), and things are peachy keen.

My husband Joey and I are back into RvB, and re watching everything, and soon we shall watch season 10.

Bigger update later, or I'll disappear again for 9 months.

      PAX East 2012

      So...yeah.

Just wanted anyone who still watches me to know I was at PAX East this past weekend, on Sunday, bought some stuff for Joey and I. Gus called me a pervert cause he signed a Caboosisms poster on the crotch, and on Joey's poster he signed it on the leg then circled the crotch. Just cause I'm a perv. Gus says he remembered meeting me at Katsucon '06, but I doubt it, you know celebrities. Matt and Kat signed it, as well as Kerry, and one other woman I didn't know who it was. So many people involved now!

We bought the season 9 dvd and watched that so I'm up to season 9. Got Joey a caboose hat as well as a Take It Easy shirt for me.

Thought I'd pass that along for anyone out there who still cares or watches me.

other things? Getting Married May 5th, am due to have a little girl August 20th.

      Thanks Noira.

Not that surprising since I hardly do anything that pops alerts up.

Also thanks for the trippy video...

They are still evil though and no catchy tune can change that.
