A New Hunter and an Opportunity for You!Hey everyone, Jack here with the winner of our New Hunter contest and your new Official Achievement Hunter Video Contributor. I'd like everyone to send a big hearty congratulations to Adam Pisani. Adam has been around since we launched Achievement Hunter and has already made an impact by sending in some fantastic videos like his Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Boss Fight walkthroughs. He will now act as our first "Official Achievement Hunter Video Contributor" on the site. Our OAHVC. It was a very difficult decision and we had around forty fantastic submissions that Geoff, Knuckles and I dug through. Honestly, I wish we had Intensity cards for everyone who entered, everyone did a fantastic job. Now, for those of you that entered and didn't win, I have somewhat of a consolation for you. Today we begin a new wing of the Achievement Hunter mansion. We are launching "Achievement Hunter Community Videos." That's right, we are working our way towards accepting entries in to our enormous database of badassness (TM) from anyone willing to put together a video. "But Jack, how do I help out?" I can hear you asking...if you have a walkthrough you want to submit for consideration, this what you need to do: 1. Sign up over at our fancy new Community Video Group. We'll be using this group to make sure that we don't get a bunch of videos for the same achievements. Make use of the forum in there and the comments in order to figure out how you can help out. Remember, we have a whole crapload of older titles that all need walkthroughs, dive in to that archive! 2. Download the "donut" materials (not the pink guy from RvB) and use them in your video. There are two zip files for you, one is for 4:3 submissions and one is for 16:9 submissions. Within these zip files you will find two files. An intro image and an endslate animation. All submissions must have the intro slate at the beginning of your video for at least 4 seconds and the entire animation must play at the end. You are welcome to talk underneath the intro and end if you'd like, no big deal. Entries without the intro/end slates will not be accepted. Put your video edit in between these two files...hence...DONUT. 2b. Entries can be in AVI or MOV format, with preference leaning towards a Quicktime MOV. 3. Entries can be widescreen or 4:3. Please submit videos that are either 640x480 or 640x360, no bigger, no smaller. We may change this around in the future, but for now, that is what we require. 4. By submitting your video, you give Achievement Hunter (and Rooster Teeth) permission to use that video however we feel fit. Submitting your video doesn't mean we'll automatically post it, we will still only take the best quality videos we receive. 5. You must be awesome in order to submit videos. (Sorry Gav, you are out.) 6. We are currently setting up an FTP for you to send in videos. Give us a couple of days before we get it up and completely running, keep your eyes on Achievement Hunter for the details when we get the FTP info. If you have any questions about these requirements feel free to drop us a line with a question, or send us a comment on our profiles. We'll do our damnedest to get back to you ASAP. There you go...Achievement Hunter has expanded much farther than we thought it would in this brief amount of time, and now you can be a part of that expansion. We'll be running more "Official Achievement Hunter" contests soon for more Intensity capture cards and more chances for you to join us in our treehouse of fun. Until then, get out there and start making more awesome walkthroughs. Oh, and for those of you that submitted videos for this contest, you are welcome to send in your videos re-edited with the new donut files included. I like saying donut. |
