Top 10 Games (IMO) 2 of 22. Portal 1 & 2
I'm a big Portal fan and after playing it for literally days, I nearly had a stroke when I saw Portal 2. Having played and beaten both many times I must say they didn't change the way I saw games, but after those games no puzzle games ever brought me joy. Portal gave the world a look at how people react to puzzle games, and proved with an amazing story, beautiful character creation and lovely music, puzzle games were, and are, very well accepted by the community. 1. Mario 64
I personally don't like Mario games I played nearly all of them in my years but only a few ever stuck in my head, Mario 64, Super Mario World, and Super Mario World 3. Mario 64 brought a very interesting design to the table of adventure games, three dimensions. Mario 64 took the book on successful video game design and rewrote it. Adding a third dimension isn't the only thing Mario 64 did to the gaming world, it also introduced the camera angles, moving your camera could show hidden passages or doorways. Nintendo also introduced one big thing with Mario 64, the analog stick. Even though an analog stick had been used in the past for arcade games etc. Mario 64 and Nintendo brought it to the controller, which I must say, Thank you, could you imagine playing Battefield or Call of Duty with directional pads...yikes.
